The Biotech units were designed to accommodate an expansion of the science syllabus, at TCD. The client identified a dilapidated warehouse from their existing building stock for refurbishment and conversion into a leading edge bio tech laboratories.

The existing warehouse, consisted of approximately 4,000sqft of a split level dilapidated, in-situ concrete structure, with infill brickwork. A substantial condition survey was undertaken prior to any works being carried out due to the historical nature of the building. The refurbishment works, predominately repairs to the existing walls and floors was followed by an extensive re-drafting of the floor layout. Glass and drywall partition systems with lay-in grid ceilings were utilised to achieve a high quality finish within a historical building. The blend between new and old was carefully and tastefully completed. A substantial internal laboratory fit-out then upgraded the facility to the clients satisfaction.
